Dr. Ouellette's
Books
My first attempt at writing
was in the 1970's when I became involved with the
Wilderness First Aid concepts having run a joint Humber College-Mohawk
College Wilderness First Aid course. These were in the days when I was teaching and examining in First Aid as well as running a private
practice.
This is an unpublished manuscript of questions to ask before one ventures into the
wilderness. I called it the Wilderness
Pre-Planning Checklist. It was the real Cut and Paste method where one actually gets the
scissors out and cuts up paragraphs to paste them into a different order on another
page. Very labour consuming. This was before the days of the
computer.
Then I got side tracked when CPR came along in the mid 1970's and the
Hamilton Red Cross Society asked me be to go to Toronto to get trained and then come back and teach the nurses
at Red Cross in Hamilton, the firemen, police, Ambulance and lifeguards etc.
Then red Cross asked me to go to Toronto to take a 4 day course by the Army on Community Disaster
Planning and then teach various communities the new concepts for emergency planning.
I never got back to the book. Then computers came out, and then cell
phones came out, a Master of Science degree in Biology-Nutrition came along, 3 year sports injury
specialization course. Gees too many distracting things. That book is still there somewhere. LOL
The
FoodPainConnection
I first wrote a manuscript for a public lecture in the late
1980's called the Secret Diet for Pain Relief. That data was expanded into a considerable volume of pages. I then
decided to pare down that data into just what was clinically important to a patient looking for a
FoodPainConnection process to gain some level of pain relief through dietary means. Dr. Ouellette's
Pain Relief Diet Manual was published in May 2002 and Cheating on the Pain Relief
Diet was published in August 2006.
In 2014 they were both republished in the US (bad idea) as second editions under the names Dr. Ouellette's Anti-Inflammatory
Pain Relief Diet, Second Edition and Cheating on Dr. Ouellette's Anti-Inflammatory Pain Relief Diet, Second
Edition.
