I finished as Bronze Medallion course at 13 but was too young to receive the award so the following summer after turning 14 they let me take the test without taking the course again. A few years later I took the National Lifeguard training and passed that. Later I took the Leader Patrol Course the the Instructor Course so I could teach swimming to the Junior Sailors at the Royal Hamilton Yacht Club.
